Mobile, Ala. – May 9, 2017 – New Super Post-Panamax Cranes are enroute to the Port of Mobile aboard the ship M/V ZEN HUA 23. These cranes will irrevocably change the skyline of Mobile and usher in a new era of global trade for the 10th largest U.S. seaport in total volume. 

New post-Panamax cranes are bound for Mobile, Ala. aboard the heavy load M/V ZEN HUA 23.
The M/V ZEN HUA 23 is a 234 meter (767.7 feet) long, wide beam, heavy load ship designed to carry the Port of Mobile’s newest Super Post-Panamax container cranes. The fully-assembled gantry cranes (as shown in the picture) will arrive in port on or about June 26, 2017, providing locals a rare and impressive view of state-of-the-art container cranes in transit. 
The two cranes are ZPMC Super Post Panamax ship-to-shore cranes manufactured in China. Each 100 LT (long ton) capacity crane is capable of reaching 22 to 23 containers wide and 10 containers high on deck. Upon arrival, the cranes will be placed on the dock at APM Terminals Mobile to support growing containerized cargo volumes and new ocean carrier services.
